Garrett Bangert
PhD Student
My name is Laurence Garrett Bangert, and I am a 3nd year PhD student in the Virginia Tech SBES program. My research interests include crash data analysis, machine learning, vehicle safety, lower extremity injury, computational modeling, computed tomography imaging, bone mechanobiology, and injury epidemiology. I am currently studying how the mechanisms of crash-related distal tibia fractures influence long-term functional outcomes to identify common characteristics between cases with poor clinical outcomes. Outside of the lab, I love to climb, be outdoors, draw, MMA, Jiu Jitsu, and shoot pool.
