Edward Shangin

Ed is an Accelerated Master's student at Virginia Tech. He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Tech in May 2024 and is on track to complete his M.S. in Spring 2025. He plans to pursue a Ph.D. following his master's studies. His current research focuses on observing the effects of human osteoblasts in a novel osteoconductive scaffold, which will undergo mechanical characterization and be introduced into co-culture applications to investigate the mechanisms of breast-to-bone metastases. In his free time, Ed enjoys playing billiards, watching sports with friends, and playing video games.
